Rei I own a X Bolt carbon fiber Dura touch stock it began to be sticky and used Goo Gone, two aplications and then baby powder with a towel and work preatty good. 22-250 syn stock melted 1 year after purchase. Watch the edges though as it went through the graphic layer in a couple of spots, but with the Mossy Oak pattern it just looks like part of the pattern, so no harm done.

I have a Browning A Bolt with sticky stock. Free shipping. Almost like the stickum football players use. Took it out to mount scope and go to range today and it was a sticky mess. They informed me that the wait time is now up to 8months. I have a Browning Gold 12 gauge that is lousy with sticky, tacky camouflage. They discontinued the gold line so they pretty much say buy a new Browning or fix the dura-touch problem yourself. Browning customer service told me to send the whole gun back - at my expense- and they would refinish. Pretty bummed about this. The service department told me that they wait until they have 40 to be done then send them out, when that 40 returns another 40 go out.. They were stripped and redone. However, I didnt receive the SX2s back until January, since the Dura-Touch finish had to be stripped off and a new finish applied to the stocks and forearms. Seems like if you own a serial number in the affected range they would just send a new one and let you throw out the old.
Browning needs to do a full recall on these guns and fix this problem. Something that can be repaired and not wear out. Ammunition My Maxus is so sticky that it is unusable! Hope camo coating sticks. I have a browning gold 10 in mossy oak brownbought new for over 1500 bucks.same problem with the stock as all the others listed aboveI realized this 2-3 years ago, called customer servicethey no longer made the camo pattern my gun was, said only option to send me non matching stock and forearm.I was very reluctant as I would have a frankenbrowning non matching.FYI gun rarely used, 4 boxes of shells in a decade at most.worst gun fiasco I have ever had.
